Setting up a "base camp" of ideas is essential to getting a start-up off the ground. This is when you will need to decide on how to turn your idea into the minimal viable product which is also marketable. To stick with the Everest climb theme, you have to decide on and only bring the essentials. Too many features could overcomplicate the product and obscure the marketing for it.
After you have established what your main product is, you have to create a go-to-market business model for said product. It needs to have a clear and easy to convey use case and should be tested with a potential customers, preferably someone who fits your ideal customer profile. Conducting pilots validates your thinking with developing the product.
If things don't go as well as hoped, think iteratively with the product. Make changes to the product so that it is an effective solution to the problem/need you posed. Take the feedback and refine your product until you have the basic product ready. After that, then think about investing in additional features or expand the capabilities of your product lineup.
