The seventh chapter of Ascend Your Startup discusses finding the next peak in your journey. At this point, your business will probably have some kind of global presence. Scaling up will be necessary in order to reach your summit.
The next decisions that you will have to make are how will you inspire cultural collaboration, how has your technology connected humanity in a better or bigger way, how will you armor up for adversity, how will you handle the loneliness factor, and how will you take care of and preserve yourself.
The decision that I identify with the most is how will you take care of and preserve yourself. Early in my career and seeing close friends invest in their careers, I see too many people work at the expense of their personal lives. At the end of the day, you have to decide what is worth it to you in terms of your career. It is easy lose sight of this when working solely towards a certain career or start-up goal and it can be detrimental to your long-term well being.
